On taking pictures WITH your children...

I just want to take a minute to discuss taking photographs WITH your children, not just OF your children. I believe it is inherently important to take regularly scheduled family photographs and to include in those photographs one on one pictures of each parent with each child. Honestly, if it were up to me, my family would get portraits done at MINIMUM 4 times per year, as well as taking candids together throughout the year. And not just while the children are young. I feel like this should continue throughout the years and that it becomes more important as everyone ages. We never know when we're not going to have the opportunity anymore and those family portraits will become such a treasured possession. I'm honestly not saying this just to get you to book a session. If you can't afford to pay for a family portrait session, at the VERY least please take photos with your children, with your parents, with your grandchildren, with your grandparents on a regular basis and PLEASE get those photos printed out. Nothing is worse after losing a loved one then having your computer crash and losing all the pictures you had of them or losing your phone and all those photographic memories. We tend to leave everything on the computer or the camera or the phone these days, but what happens when those break? Get those photos printed and get them into albums people! Or frames. Or however you want to display them. Just take them and get them printed out people, it's so very important!
